Katy Perry’s ‘Dark Horse’ to Follow Up ‘ROAR’ Release
Katy Perry's latest release, "Roar," has really grown on me. I first heard it minutes away from Lady Gaga's "Applause," and rated it second to Gaga on first impression. While I really like both songs, Katy's has become an earworm.
Driving to work on Wednesday, I was listening to Kidd Kraddick in The Morning, and when "Roar" came on I found myself singing along and turning the volume up. The song is catchy, and I love its message.
What is Katy's next move? A preview from her new album, Prism, "Dark Horse." The song will strike a different tone. She describes it as a mix of pop and hip-hop, and revealed to MTV, "The lyrics are kind of witchy and dark, as if I was a witch warning this man no to fall in love with me, and if you, know I'm going to be your last."
"Dark Horse" features rapper Juicy J and will release on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Katy says it beholds a "witchy, spell-y kind of black magic-y idea."
Fans voted for "Dark Horse" to be a part of Katy's prewiew of the new album, and she was quick to point out it is no the second single to be released.
