Monday morning Kelly Clarkson found herself right in the opening ceremony of President Obama's inauguration singing "My Country 'Tis Of The" and now she has plans to be a part of a benefit concert in the metroplex to help disadvantaged kids receive a better education. The concert will take place on Friday, March 1st at the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie and will benefit the Opportunity Education Foundation (OEF).

The goal of the Opportunity Education Foundation is to bring quality education to the less advantaged children so that their standard of living can be improved and work toward a brighter future. Tickets for the event are on sale through axs.com with a portion of the ticket going to the charity.

OEF is looking to expand their program to high school students by offering disadvantaged children here in the U.S. a low-cost tablet that will be loaded with digital lessons to help them succeed in life. The program currently focuses on middle school aged children and has helped out 500,000 kids in 11 different countries and now they are looking to turn their focus on the U.S.

This is a great opportunity to help bring education to these in need and to see a great performer at the same time. I've had the honor of seeing Kelly Clarkson in concert and she does put on a great show. Ticket information for the benefit concert can be found online at axs.com.
