Today was the day four special kids from East Texas, along with 46 other families, embarked on a trip of a lifetime to Walt Disney World.

Thanks to your generous support of Kidd's Kids this trip was made possible for these kids and their families. The families from East Texas along with other from the Dallas- Fort Worth, Shreveport-Bossier City, Texarkana and Wichita Falls all met at a private hangar at Love Field to board the special Southwest Airlines Kidd's Kids plane bound for Orlando!

Before these kids boarded the plane, they were treated with sweet cupcakes, chicken fingers from Raising Canes, a ton of other food and all kinds of activities! They could play dress-up and take pics in a photo booth, tour the cockpit of the plane that would be carrying them on this journey of a lifetime and play on the purple carpet before they got to walk it.

Kids also had the chance to meet other kids that were going on the trip.

The cast of The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show came on scene and called each kid's name while they got to walk the purple carpet that was lined with spectators shaking pom-poms and cheering them on all the way down the aisle. Some kids casually walked the purple carpet and soaked it all in, while others were understandably very shy and others raced down it to get on the plane.

Once everyone was aboard and the cabin door shut, the engines of the Kidd's Kids plane revved up and they began to taxi out to the runway. Before they go on the runway they were treated to a shower compliments of the Love Field Fire Department shooting their water cannons over the plane.

These special families will be in Walt Disney World through Monday experiencing many things they normally would not experience here at home.

You can follow along with them all weekend long on the Kidd's Kids website, Kidd Nation or on social media - Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
