Today I was invited to a luncheon in support of the Alzheimer Alliance of Smith County. The 5th Annual Butterfly Hope Luncheon included special guest, Kimberly Williams Paisley, who spoke about her mother's battle with dementia.

Guests of Butterflies, Boots and Books were treated to lunch, books and an inspiring message from Williams-Paisley whose mother was diagnosed with primary progressive-aphasia at the young age of 62.

She spoke about her mother's incredible journey. Her love and generosity of spirit, and of the hardships. If you've had a family member fighting this traumatic disease then you know how difficult it can be to watch someone's mind slowly lose touch with the present.

Her book is titled, "Where the Light Gets In - Losing My Mother Only to Find Her Again." After hearing her speak, I'm looking forward to reading about her journey.
