A while back we brought you the incredible story of the Brown family. The story consists of a local military husband,Sean, rushing home to his pregnant wife Heather who was sent into a coma after and emergency C-section. Their story continues to touch people all over the nation, but especially the locals. And one lady is going out of her way to help the Brown family this holiday season.

Last week we received an email from one of our loyal listeners, Kerry Sneed. She said that she has been following the story of the Browns and wanted to do something to help. She decided to have a garage sale on the 24th and 25th of November with all of the proceeds going to the Browns. When I asked her what prompted the idea, this is what she said:

I have been following the story on Facebook. It is such a sad story! I'm a mother or a 2 year old and I feel so blessed being able to be with him each and everyday. He is my whole world. I could not even imagine going through what they are going through and to be honest my heart just pours out to them. The father seems so awesome and is holding his head up so high that it just truly amazes me! He has served our country and that is such an accomplishment. This story has just rested heavy on my heart! Everyday I keep thinking what can I do to help? I've been praying and this morning I woke up and a very large garage sale has come to my mind. I immediately starting texting everyone I know for donations to the garage sale to see how people would react and all I have gotten back was positive feedback. I knew then that I am suppose to do this for this precious family.

Kerry said she has enlisted the help of neighbors to expand the size of the sale across numerous homes. At the end of the sale all leftover items will be picked up by the Salvation Army and all money raised will go to the Brown family. Kerry said she has contacted the Browns about the sale and they feel so blessed by the generosity.

For those interested in donating items or helping out at the sale, please call Kerry Sneed at 903 399-5312.

If you are wanting to go Black Friday shopping but avoid all the crazies, go to the sale and help out this amazing family. Sale details are:

November 24th-25th from 7am-3pm at 913 Dolores Street Tyler, TX. 75703.
