Longview Police Will Ride the Bus

A new program will put Longview Police Officers on city buses. Longview Police and Longview Transit recently implemented the new program called Longview Cops in Transit.

Police Area Representative Officers will ride the buses at various times and on different routes throughout the city.

The program serves two purposes. First is the safety aspect, which creates a more secure environment so citizens will feel more comfortable using public transportation. Second is the added opportunity for police to reach out tocitizens, creating a positive interactive experience, which is a goal of community policing.

Longview Police and Longview Transit are committed to providing safety to the community, and this is just another opportunity to make the City of Longview a safer place to live.
