The Golden Globe nominations have been revealed and some of our favorite pop stars have received nods.
Madonna‘s directorial debt ‘W.E.,’ which lands at theaters on Feb. 3, was recognized in two music categories. Her song ‘Masterpiece,’ which is used in the closing credits and which she co-wrote, is up for ‘Best Original Song.’ The film is also up for Best Original Score, which was done by Abel Korzenowski.

PopCrush has said time and time again that 2012 is going to be the year of Madge, since she is staging a takeover with her film, her new album and a possible tour! Move over, pop divas. The Material Girl is about to stake her claim at the top of the food chain.

Back to the Globes noms! Madge’s fellow diva Mary J. Blige is also up for Best Original Song for ‘The Living Proof,’ which appears in ‘The Help.’ Interestingly, Elton John’s ‘Hello Hello’ from ‘Gnomeo & Juliet’ is also nominated. John actually duets with Lady Gaga on the version of the song that is in the film, but Gaga does not appear on the version that is on the soundtrack.

The Globes, which are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, will be handed out on Jan. 15.

Congrats to all the nominees. May the best song (and score) win!
