I often get asked, "What do you listen to when you are not on air?" This is a tough question. I find it hard to explain my varied taste in music, but here is a glimpse of what I listen to while working out.

I find it's easier for me to stay motivated if I listen to upbeat music while I work out, so I don't usually include ballads in these playlists. Last night I tried something different. Instead of my typical Mix 93-1 playlist which includes music from the Fitz & the Tantrums, Bruno Mars and Ellie Goulding, I turned on my spring break road trip playlist.

The first song that came on was 'You Learn' by Alanis Morissette. I took that time to stretch and get warmed up. My favorite treadmill workout is in intervals, so I alternate between a fast walk, jog, and run.

When I stepped on the treadmill I kicked it up a notch as Gangsta's Paradise began. My lungs got a workout when Journey's 'Don't Stop Believing' came on next, and of course I sang along while running. I kept it up beat with the Offspring's 'Original Prankster', and finished strong with Beyonce and Jay-Z 'Crazy in Love.' Then I cooled down to Gin Blossom's 'Hey Jealousy.'

In about 25 minutes I completed nearly two miles, and increased my heart rate. The hardest part is getting started, but when I've got great music it helps get me pumped up and keeps me running.
