The next few days will be all about spending time with family, eating until we're sick, watching parades and football, shopping, and putting up the Christmas decorations.

For many offices, it won't be business-as-usual until Monday. Several East Texas agencies and businesses are rolling up the carpet and shutting down to observe the holiday. There's no mail tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day, but it will be delivered on Friday. Here are the rest of the anticipated closures:

Smith County offices will close Thursday and Friday, along with all federal and Smith County courts. Tyler city administrative offices will also shut down, and Tyler Solid Waste customers who normally have Thursday pickups will have it picked up TODAY. Hope your trash container is already by the curb. Friday is a normal trash collection day. Recycling pickup can happen anytime between now and Friday, just leave the container by the curb.

If you need a break from shopping, the Tyler Public Library, Tyler Transit and Gallery Main Street plan to reopen Saturday.

And there's no school! Tyler ISD is closed today through Friday. Tyler Junior College is closed today through Friday, and UT Tyler is closed Thursday and Friday.

Have a very happy Thanksgiving!
