Two of Michael Jackson's children -- Paris and Prince -- paid tribute to their late father today (August 29) in honor of what would have been his 58th birthday.

Prince Jackson honored the late icon with an original poem he posted to Instagram earlier today, writing, “Happy birthday to the Man who was more than a legend. I love you.”

Paris cosigned the gesture when she re-posted it later, along with the caption, “love this.. proud of you big brother. and happy birthday to the man that means more to us than anything and anyone ever could.”

The Myth, The Legend, The Man
Michael Jackson Jr.

To many he is king, to me, a man
All he inspired, to lead a noble cause.
Everyone is family, not a fan
Even while receiving thunderous applause.
The many know the Legend and the Myth,
A lucky hew know the Man as he is
But not last he Jackson family fifth.
“Son, Brother, Father,” these few knows him as.
He is the Myth, the Legend and the Man
He cares for his mother and his children,
The world and everyone, he is a lamb,
He is pure, tested, yet has forgiven.

He is the archangel known as Michael
He is with us and our tears we must stifle.

Paris has honored the memory her late father before, though her tributes typically take a more permanent form. Back in April, she got the words “Queen of My Heart” emblazoned in Jackson’s handwriting along her left wrist. A month later, Paris had the album cover for Jackson's 1991 release Dangerous tattooed, and she followed that up with the word BAD -- done in the same style as Jackson’s 1987 album title -- tattooed above her wrist.

Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, from acute propofol intoxication, according to the Los Angeles Times. He was 50 years old.
