Why didn't Miley Cyrus flee the United States in November after Donald Trump's election? In a new interview, she says she isn't ready to give up the fight.

Cyrus, who swore she'd move to a different country in the event Trump won, said in a new interview with NME that she still gets hounded on social media for remaining Stateside in spite of her vow to leave, but that those comments are hardly enough to uproot her.

“I’m not f------ leaving the country, that’s some ignorant s---, that’s dumb," she said. "Because that’s me abandoning my country when I think I’ve got a good thing to say to my country."

“And trust me, I hear every day on my Instagram, ‘Just leave already! When are you going to leave?’" she added. "Well, that’s not going to be any good. Does it really matter where I am? Because wherever I am, my f------ voice is gonna be heard, and I’ll make sure of it.”

Cyrus went on a number of anti-Trump tangents leading up to the November 2016 election and routinely decried the eventual POTUS.

“Honestly f--- this s---I am moving if this is my president! I don’t say things I don’t mean!” she'd previously said. Elsewhere, she noted "YOU DT ARE NOT GOD NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU THINK YOU ARE!!! (& if he doesn’t think he is “God” he thinks he is the f—king chosen one or some sh—t! We’re all just f—king jam between his rich ass toes! Honestly f—k this sh—t I am moving if this is my president! I don’t say things I don’t mean!)”
