Mix 93-1 and CTCU are proud to recognize outstanding teachers from our East Texas classrooms!

This week's recipient is Ms. Platt, an eighth grade English teacher at Hallsville Jr. High. Ms. Platt was nominated by a student who had this to say about her from the nomination form:

Mrs. Platt has had the biggest impact on my life as a teacher. I had missed months of school due to a very stressful leg surgery, and everyday she let me come to her room [even] if I was too physically or emotionally drained. I would cry every day because of the pain and how much I was behind in school. I debated on dropping all of my extracurricular classes, but she never let me. She would stay after school and come before school just to talk to me, and help me catch up with my school work even though she had a very busy life of her own. She always made sure EVERYONE felt like they deserved to be happy. She never set judgement to anyone. She did all of this while dealing with other [personal] problems that people don't deserve. Since my leg has healed, she's came to my school just to check on me and catch up every week. This woman is like a second mother to me, and I will never forget her. Even if she doesn't win this contest, I still believe it's great for at least one more person to know how great she is.

Thanks to this student, now everyone knows just how great Ms. Platt is! Ms. Platt is changing lives of young minds all around us, just like teachers all over East Texas.

Congratulations Ms. Platt for being named the Mix 93-1 CTCU Teacher Of The Week and thanks for the job that you're doing to help our children succeed.
