(AP) — It's the morning after and the controversy over how to sell emergency contraception still looms.

The order by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to stop the Plan B morning-after pill from moving onto drugstore shelves has shocked women's health advocates, a key part of President Barack Obama's Democratic base.

Major doctors groups also are stunned by the decision. They have argued that over-the-counter sales could lower the nation's high number of unplanned pregnancies.

(AP) — Former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky is behind bars after failing to post $250,000 bail in cash. New sexual molestation charges have been brought against Sandusky based on the testimony of two additional accusers. Sandusky already had been charged with molesting eight boys.

(AP) — The Texas Department of Public Safety is taking to the water..

The DPS is scheduled to commission a new shallow-water interceptor vessel in Austin on Thursday for use in patrols of the Rio Grande and international lakes.

The vessel will be named in honor of Trooper Jerry Don Davis, who was killed in October 1980 during a road stop on U.S. 84 just outside Slaton, about 15 miles southeast of Lubbock.

The vessel starts its patrol operations early next year.

No Children were injured in a school bus accident yesterday afternoon in Rusk County..Authorities say the Kilgore ISD bus and a pickup truck collied at hwy 259 and Pirtle Road …Two people who were in the truck were transported to a local hospital where they are being treated for their injuries. The school bus was transporting eight children

A one vehicle accident has left a 26 year old Smith County man dead..DPS reports Dwight Lamar King of Lindale lost control of his car and struck a tree. He died of his injuries at a local hospital. The fatal accident occurred on County rd 431 in Wood County, six miles north of Lindale.

(AP) — The grandmother of two children shot by their mother inside a San Antonio welfare office says her ex-daughter-in-law had a history of mental problems. Police say the mother shot the children and then killed herself at the end of a seven-hour standoff Monday. The 12-year-old girl died last night. The girl's 10-year-old brother is in critical condition. The family had been denied food stamps.

(AP) — Ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is facing a bleak countdown. In 71 days, he must say goodbye to his family and begin serving a 14-year prison term for corruption.

He was sentenced on 18 counts of corruption, including trying to sell or trade an appointment to President Barack Obama's former U.S. Senate seat.
