This week's recipient is Ericka Prather of Stanton Smith Elementary in Whitehouse.

Mix 93-1 and Half Price Books are proud to recognize Ms. Prather, a kindergarten teacher as our Mix 93-1 Teacher Of The Week and we thank her peer for submitting Ms. Prather to be recognized for what she's doing at Stanton Smith Elementary School. Here's what her peer had to say about her:

Ericka pours her heart and soul into providing a solid and stable foundation for her students. She knows she's one of the first people to influence her students. She works all summer long making sure she and her classroom are ready to provide an inviting and exciting and safe place for her students to learn. She has type 1 diabetes and has created a social media site just for teachers and students to follow her as she navigates through life with this incurable disease. She hopes to show the world that no matter what is thrown at you, you can succeed and you can always be kind to others and lift others up.
