As long as I've lived in Tyler I've never really paid attention to the Rose Rudman Recreational Trail until this past weekend!  With the temperatures finally out of the 100's, my wife, daughter and I took our bikes out for a ride on the trail.

I was pleasantly surprised about the trail and park that is along the concrete paths.  The trail was filled with walkers, joggers, runners, bikers, in-line skaters and kids on motorized scooters.  I think many other Tylerites and East Texans had the same idea as my family yesterday because the trail was a bit congested at times.  The idea was to just get outdoors and enjoy the weather because it's finally under 104* for high temps.

I know Tyler Parks and Recreation recently added to the trails length which is really nice because the trail meanders along a creek and goes through wooded areas, which provides quite a bit of shade.  The trails are pretty wide, which accomodate all kinds of pedestrian and bike traffic.  Plus, there are various routes that you can go on on the original part of the trail (by the high school).

Now that summer is behind us it looks like we'll be doing more bike riding along Rose Rudman because my daughter really enjoyed it.  I guess because it's different that riding down the street in front of the house and we get to go somewhere to do something!

What do you think about Rose Rudman Recreational Trail?  My only suggestions would be to add more routes to the trail instead of making it from point A to point B and add parking near the trail end at Grande Blvd.
