The power of adoption is remarkable. Through this remarkable event, millions of animals each year find new homes with loving, caring families. This weekend is National Pet Adoption Weekend and you have the opportunity to save a little (or big) guy's life by adopting them from a local animal shelter. Local shelters house all breeds of dogs and cats, but sometimes other small animals too like birds, rabbits and hamsters.

On National Pet Adoption weekend, the SPCA of East Texas is celebrating their many pets, adoption and foster families and volunteers too with a big event at their adoption center on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The SPCA of East Texas would like to catch up and see what their little bundles of joy have been up after leaving the shelter and would like to create some memories with PUPDATES! They will have hot dogs and desserts along with other activities too. Don't forget to bring your furry family member along as there will be a photo booth set up for pics along with pics from photographers too.

The SPCA of East Texas Adoption Center is located at 5218 Old Bullard Rd. in Tyler. Of course, they'll be adopting out on this day too!

Look for other special events happening around East Texas too at other animal shelters and at animal stores throughout the area.
