Wanna wash your car on Monday?  You can't do it.   Beginning Monday the Smith County Municipal Utility District #1 will implement water restrictions.

That means using water outside for lawns, gardens and car washing, is restricted to Saturday and Sunday or from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

During the week, outdoor water use is not be allowed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and washing cars or or filling pools is prohibited.

If you're caught breaking the rules, a warning will be issued for a first-time offense.  After that it's a $250 fine for residential and $1,000 for non-residential.   What's more, they'll shut off your water until the fine is paid.

Lindale and Bullard are already under similar restrictions.

If you've been waiting for the perfect time to do your rain dance, go ahead and break it out now!
