New Zealand Batman Who Answered ‘Bat Signal’ Is Total ‘Dork Knight’

A New Zealand man dressed as Batman walked into police headquarters and asked to speak to the “Commissioner.”

Like any good superhero, the concerned citizen was responding to the “bat signal” and wanted to see what the emergency was. However,  TV NZ reports that it was all a big misunderstanding on the part of the “Dork Knight.” Holy awkward situation, Batman!

The faux Batman explained that the White Lights of Hope, which commemorate the anniversary of the devastating 2010 earthquake in Cristchurch, NZ, look very similar to the “bat signal” used by Commissioner Gordon in the ‘Batman’ comic books and movies to summon the Caped Crusader to police headquarters.

Batman made the police chuckle, not just for his outfit, but for his size and stature.

“Sgt Jones, who was just clocking on when the hero arrived on Sunday, said he was too ‘scrawny’ to make a convincing Batman, adding Robin would have to be 6-foot-4 and built like a tank to help him out.”

Police said the hero only stayed for a few minutes and was being filmed by a friend. No word if that friend was Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler Alfred.
