One Direction flew to Ghana in Africa as part of their work with British charity Comic Relief and the organization's Red Nose Day.

Niall Horan and Harry Styles tweeted about the trip, which clearly affected them on a deep level and elicited quite an emotional response from them.

The boys visited some of the poverty-stricken people who are aided by Comic Relief's funds. They also filmed the segments that will accompany their video and their cover of Blondie's 'One Way or Another.' The song is 1D's contribution to Red Nose Day, the telethon which is the chief way that Comic Relief raises money for its efforts.

Comic Relief is about bringing about positive and lasting change in the lives of poor and disadvantaged people.

The boys are certainly using their fame for good in this case.

Their segment and video will air on March 15 as part of the Red Nose Day broadcast.

Horan said his life was changed by what he saw and that it opened his eyes, while Styles declared the visit one of the best things he ever did.
