When news of Chris Brown's 2009 assault on Rihanna first hit, few celebs responded as strongly as Oprah Winfrey, who insisted on her now-defunct legendary talk show, "He will hit you again." So how does she feel about the pair getting back together?

Oprah said she's not sure if the reunion rumors are true (c'mon, O -- you know they are!), but that she's supportive of whatever Rihanna does in the situation. “I think that if she is prepared to deal with that and is prepared to help him help himself then so be it," she told Extra. "I have no judgment about it. That’s why I can sit there and have such a great time with her because I do all my interviews with no judgment whatsoever. If that’s how you choose to lead your life, that's really okay.”

“You know what I loved about that interview is that she came with a big wide open heart," Oprah contined. "She was in the space of forgiveness. And that she learned a lesson that she was repeating with Chris Brown -- exactly what she needed to learn from her father."

Oprah's not the only supporter of the former flames getting back together. Rihanna's aforementioned father, Ronald Fenty, also endorsed the coupling, telling press, “I think everyone makes mistakes and they shouldn't be held to them forever. Everyone should be forgiven once. There’s a lot more to Chris than the whole world knows. I love Chris, man. He’s got so much charisma. And he’s always had so much respect for me,” Fenty insisted. “That’s what I love about him. He’s always shown me respect.”

Perhaps Oprah was sympathetic to RiRi and Brown's romance because of Rihanna's moving interview on her own show, in which she admitted she's still in love with the 'Don't Wake Me Up' singer. “He was the love of my life,” she said on 'Oprah: The Next Chapter.' “He loved me the same way. We were young and spontaneous. We ran free, we ran wild. We forgot about ourselves as individuals and personal discipline. We needed something to shut that off to show us what we were missing and taking for granted. I truly love him. The main thing for me is that he is at peace. I am not at peace if he is unhappy or lonely. It matters to me that he finds peace.”

It also matters to her that he dumped Karrueche Tran, even he says he might still love her. We're expecting a public outing for Rihanna and Chris Brown soon enough -- likely around the time her next album drops.
