The Chicago Sun-Times reported it last Friday morning that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is potentially looking to Oprah Winfrey to host this years awards show.

Oprah is topping the list of candidates and if selected she would become the 3rd woman to host the show in its 84 years.  The other 2 women being Whoopi Goldberg (hosting the show four times) and Ellen DeGeneres (hosting the ceremony one time).

According to the Chicago Sun-Times there’s the possibility of Oprah hosting some kind of backstage all-access type of show right after the Oscars that would be shown on the OWN network – but at this time nothing is confirmed.

Do you think Oprah would be a good host for the Oscars?
