Owl City’s Adam Young Responds to Taylor Swift’s Song About Him
Taylor Swift has written many songs and many of those songs have been written around her relationships. There's a song on her latest album (Speak Now) called "Enchanted" and it appears as if it was written about Adam Young, the voice behind Owl City.
According to an interview she did with Yahoo! Music last year, Taylor met the guy about whom she wrote the song in New York City after e-mailing back and forth with him. The guy used the word "wonderstruck" in one of those exchanges, so she included that word in the tune. She also capitalized the letters A-D-A-M in the lyric printout of "Enchanted."
Now, Adam Young has responded to Taylor with his own recording of "Enchanted." He posted the song on the Owl City website along with a note that reads,
"I'll be the first to admit I'm a rather shy boy, and since music is the most eloquent form of communication I can muster, I decided to record something for you -- a sort of a 'reply' to the breathtaking song on your current record."
Adam doesn't stop there. He goes on to tell Taylor,
"You are a princess from a dreamy fairy tale, and above all, I just want you to know…I was enchanted to meet you too."
Adam even goes so far as to confess his love for Taylor in a rewritten section of the song and says,
"You were all of my dreams come true."
