(n.) a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website.

This is where the world is in 2013, everyone. The word of the year accurately describes today's obsession with capturing pictures of oneself in as many situations as possible.

There's even an app designed for people to send 'selfies' to their friends for limited amounts of time! If you aren't an avid Snapchat user, I would highly recommend getting with the program because it is one of the more hilarious apps in the world.

And to celebrate 'selfie' being the word of the year, I think it's only appropriate to share some of the 'selfies' that I managed to find on my phone. They're just too good not to share with the world.
