There is nothing more glorious than getting out of those uncomfortable work clothes at the end of the day and slipping on your favorite pair of pajamas. It makes one feel accomplished at the end of the day, and it's time to relax. Well, how would you feel if I told you that it may soon be "in-style" to wear your pajamas all day, everyday? It looks like that is where the next big fashion trend is headed.

According to the Wall Street Journal, teenagers have taken a liking to wearing PJs all day, even to school and anywhere in public. Apparel companies such as Abercrombie & Fitch and American Eagle are catching on to the trend, stocking their stores with leggings, sweatpants, and other comfortable attire. I love getting up and going to class every morning but not having to stress about what to wear or what I look like, I'm comfortable. And pajamas can be considered anything you would sleep in. One would think that everyone would think that wearing their pajamas to work would be the best idea ever, but unfortunately there are a lot of Debby Downer's in the world.

As expected, there are a lot of people who are not happy with this rising trend. Why? I'm not sure either. A  number of school districts have banned sleeping clothes on the out of nowhere theory that wearing pajamas and comfortable clothing affects a students willingness to learn and their motivation. Apparently getting up and dressed makes you more willing and ready to succeed in school. That makes sense, not.

Some people are so upset with pajamas they want to bring in the law to put a stop to this "madness". Michael Williams, a commissioner in Louisiana’s Caddo Parish, recently made national news by calling for a ban on pajamas in public. Under this proposed ordinance, people caught wearing pajamas—which is defined as clothes sold in the sleepwear section of department stores—would be forced to perform community service. If people wearing pajamas is his biggest issue in his Parish, maybe Louisiana needs to rethink their choice in commissioner.

Just because people want to wear comfy clothes versus uncomfortable clothes doesn't mean they are less motivated, lazy, or anything of the such.In fact, I am wearing my yoga pants at work as I type this and I feel very successful today. I have even gotten complements on my outfit. So the next time you feel like running errands but not getting all dressed up- don't. Because wearing your pajamas is the cool thing to do these days.
