Liberty Hall and The Art of Peace Festival will host Peter Yarrow in concert on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m.

Formerly of Peter, Paul and Mary, Yarrow has enjoyed many years of success in the music industry. As a member of the popular trio, some of his greatest hits were; Where Have all the Flowers Gone, 500 Miles, Puff the Magic Dragon, Wedding Song, Blowin’ in the Wind, If I had a Hammer and Leaving on a Jet Plane. In 1999, Peter, Paul and Mary were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.

Prolific political activists. The trio was involved in the peace movement and other causes. They were awarded the Peace Abbey Courage of Conscience in 1990. In 2006, the group was honored with the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Today, Yarrow brings these ballads of hope, peace and love to Tyler in honor of the Art of Peace Festival.

The Art of Peace Festival held each year is a celebration of peace in the East Texas community. This dedicated group organizes a series of events and programs celebrating peace, peaceful dialogue, education, the arts and social justice. The festival is held in September in honor of the UN International Day of Peace on Sept. 21.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Liberty Hall once again and are very excited about having Peter Yarrow here to celebrate peace,” said Rabbi Neal Katz.
