Pink Covers Jefferson Airplane’s Psychedelic ‘White Rabbit’ for New ‘Alice’ Trailer

Things get trippy, man, in the new extended trailer for Tim Burton's forthcoming flick Alice Through the Looking Glass, which pop-rocker Pink provides the promotional soundtrack for.

Giving the trailer for the whimsical story an edgy, hallucinatory atmosphere, Pink covers Jefferson Airplane's 1967 hit "White Rabbit," lending her raucous vocals to an updated version of the psychedelic track now featuring eerie, thumping electronic production.

In an exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette released by Disney on February 15, the artist shares that the song was "fun to sing," adding enthusiastically, though not surprisingly, "I like quirky, I like weird. And this movie is one of the quirkier, more creative stories."

In addition to covering Jefferson Airplane's Surrealistic Pillow classic, the singer-songwriter also reveals that she is writing and recording a "completely original song" for the film, which features a score by iconic film composer Danny Elfman (The Nightmare Before Christmas, Men in Black, Spider-Man).

"It's one of the more exciting things I've done in my life," Pink says of recording an original tune for the movie. "This movie is going to really inspire imagination. It's gonna be a fun experience and I think fans are going to love it."

Starring Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, and the late Alan Rickman, the follow-up to Burton's 2010 $334.2 million-grossing Alice in Wonderland, Alice Through the Looking Glass, is released on May 27.
