Tyler Parks and Recreation has entered into an agreement with Halff Associates to create a master plan for the Rose Complex area. This will include Harvey Convention Center, the Rose Garden, Rose Garden Center, East Texas State Fairgrounds, Tyler ISD’s football and baseball facilities, Windsor Grove Park and the surrounding areas.

“Our hope is to create a space that will become the crown jewel of our city,” said Stephanie Franklin, managing director of culture, recreation and tourism.

The Parks and Recreation Department and Halff Associates will be conducting a planning and design open house at the Rose Garden Center on Thursday, Nov. 10 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. in the Rose Room and on Friday, Nov. 11 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Azalea Room. Analysis diagrams and preliminary goal statements for the project will be on display. The public is invited to attend, learn more about this exciting project and also to give input.

“The charrette open house is an opportunity for community stakeholders and citizens to come in and view the design process in motion,” said Rick Leisner, project director for the Halff Associates team.

“This master plan is for the citizens of Tyler,” added Franklin. “A vibrant and vital part of the community of which residents will be proud.”
