The R. Kelly saga continues as the state of Georgia is conducting a criminal investigation on the R&B singer after the Lifetime documentary Surviving R. Kelly.

According to CNN, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office has opened an investigation against the singer.

This was launched over the past couple of days after the airing of the documentary as investigators received calls including the family of the survivors Asante McGee and Joycelyn Savage have professed to calling.

They are currently asking for information for those who resided in his former home in Atlanta or who have any information to what took place in the home.

Atlanta isn’t the only city seeking an investigation as Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx from Kelly’s home town Chicago is asking possible victims come forward with any information per ABC Chicago.

It was also mentioned in the document R. Kelly had inside connects to the Chicago Police Department who would inform him about the welfare checks at his studio.

The Chicago Police Department would later release a statement:

There is nothing more important to CPD than integrity, accountability and the highest of professional standards. While we do not have any current complaints of misconduct, we strongly encourage anyone who may have information related to the domestic violence allegations or who suspect or have information about wrongdoing on the part of officers to please contact Internal Affairs or the external Office of Police Accountability or Chicago Inspector General’s Office so these matters can be independently investigated.

R. Kelly has denied all charges.
