The Kilgore College Rangerettes are known worldwide for their famous high kicks, and as the original drill team. Now you can see the story behind the famous kick in 'Sweethearts of the Gridiron.'

Filmmaker Chip Hale was once a Rangerettes manager. He stood on the sidelines and assisted the ladies with props and other heavy lifting. Later in life he decided to tell their story through film.

After spending a year with the ladies, the film tells about the glamour and the hardships that go along with perfection. The film has been shown at multiple film festivals over the past year, but will make its East Texas debut on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Dodson Auditorium on the campus of Kilgore College.

There will be two showings, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online here.
