Red Light Runners + The Worst Intersections in Tyler [POLL]

With thousands hitting the road this weekend in East Texas, the risk of traffic accidents increases. And it's not speeders that present the biggest problem, it's the red light runners. And what are the most dangerous intersections in Tyler? 

We've probably all had the experience of sitting at a red light that turns green, signaling our chance to go, and all of a sudden a car zooms through from the other direction. Near miss! Red light runners cause accidents all the time, and it turns out today is one of their favorite days to do it.

The National Coalition for Safer Roads says motorists fly through red lights at a 27 percent higher pace on holiday weekends. And Fridays are when most violations happen. Three out of 10 red lights are blown between the hours of 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Fridays.

Among the most dangerous intersections in Tyler, according to Tyler police and a general consensus around the office: Broadway and Loop 323, Troup Highway and Loop 323, Highway 31 and Loop 323, and Old Jacksonville Highway and Loop 323.

The moral of the story, watch for crazy drivers on Loop 323!  Because it's everyone else that is running the red lights and driving errantly there.  We know it's not you.
