Regis Philbin Is Retiring

"This will be my last year on this show," Philbin said. "It was the biggest thrill of my life ... There is a time that everything must come to an end for certain people on camera, especially certain old people." (ABC News)

Regis has been co-host of Live! with Regis and Kelly for nearly 28 years and at the opening of the show today he made the announcement that this would be his last year on the show.

His tv career began in the 1950's and he's done it all just about including setting a Guinness World Record for the most hours on camera.  Regis did not give a firm date for his departure, but said it would be at the end of summer or the beginning of fall.
