Rihanna has always been very quiet when it comes to her relationship with former boyfriend Chris Brown. The two have never really left the media spotlight after news broke of Browns 2009 violent altercation against Rihanna. Rumors about their relationship in the past years since the altercation have never stopped, and Rihanna has finally decided to put them to rest.

The princess of R&B welcomed Oprah, the queen of television, into her home in Barbados, where the singer is from. Oprah asked the tough questions that Rihanna had been avoiding. Instead of brushing them off again, she was honest and let everyone into her relationship with her former flame.

Oprah asked her where her relationship with Chris stands today, nearly three years after his brutal attack on her. Rihanna explained, "We're very, very close friends. We built a trust again and that's it. We love each other and we probably always will." She did acknowledge that Chris was in a relationship and she was single, and the two are just friends now. They are in no way back together.

I truly love him. And the main thing for me is that he is at peace. I'm not at peace if he is unhappy or he is still lonely. I care. It actually matters that he finds peace."

She then admitted one of the toughest things for anyone to admit:  "I think he was the love of my life."
