Tour buses love the Rose Festival.

In fact, the festival has been named one of the best events in North America. So expect the big buses to keep rolling in.

The Texas Rose Festival has been named one of the Top 100 Events in North America for 2013 by the American Bus Association.

The Bus Association likes the Rose Festival because it offers great entertainment value to tour groups and travelers from around the world, and it attracts tourism dollars to East Texas at a time when the Bus Association says a re-energizing of sorts is needed when it comes to tourism in the US.

When one bus rolls into town and stays for the festival, it might mean between $5,000 and $10,000 for the economy when you add up meals, hotels, and shopping. That's good news for all of us in Tyler.

The Top 100 Events list is available online HERE.

The Rose Festival happens in Tyler the third week of October.
