Ryan Gosling may not have been the Hollywood heartthrob he is now back in 1992, but that doesn't mean he wasn't already a star. In two newly surfaced clips dating back to his middle-school years, the mini actor shows off some impressive dance moves.

In the clip above, Ryan dances to Elvis standard "Hound Dog" wearing a leather jacket, white T-shirt and dark jeans atop a fake car emblazoned "Elvis." He gyrates just as convincingly as The King himself — albeit in miniature. In the second video, which you can watch below, Ryan wears silver harem pants and shows off his best MC Hammer–inspired choreography; he's the clear standout in a troupe of hyper energetic hip-hop mini-dancers.

The former Mouseketeer — who came up alongside fellow future A-listers Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake — is taking the release of these throwback videos in stride.

He tweeted, "Obviously I peaked early. Thank you @JaneChupick and twitter for the check up from the neck up."

The self-deprecating humor serves him well but is totally unnecessary. As silly as they are, the videos showcase Gosling's incredible talent and sense of rhythm. The Academy Award–nominated actor (for his role in 2007's Half Nelson) is also an accomplished musician, singing and playing ukulele onscreen in the film Blue Valentine. He also released a child-choir-bolstered album, Dead Man's Bones, in 2009 with his band of the same name. He's a true triple-threat!

Still, we can't blame him for eventually trading in those sparkly parachute pants for a red carpet tuxedo.
