A friendly game of basketball turned violent last night when the group was approached by four men wearing hoodies.

According to Tyler Police, one of the suspects had a gun and fired it into the group striking one victim in the neck. The victim’s wound is not believed to be life threatening, and was treated at a local hospital.

All the suspects fled on foot. Tyler police consider the incident an aggravated robbery. The shooting occurred shortly after 10pm Wednesday at City Park on North Broadway and Queen Street.

The suspects were described as young thin black males approximately 5’8” to 6’ tall, weighing approximately 150-180 lbs.  Officers searched the area.  The case is currently under investigation by Tyler Police Department Detectives.
