Tuesday afternoon the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex was ravaged by a few rounds of severe weather that spawned several tornadoes and did quite a bit of damage throughout the metroplex.  There were even reports of a tornado in the vicinity of Six Flags Over Texas, the Rangers Ballpark In Arlington and Cowboys Stadium but thankfully the tornado never touched down and no damage was done to any of the facilities.  That's good news for us and me seeing how Six Flags is one of my favorite places to go and have fun (no to mention it was the place I got my first job, so I'm kinda partial to the park!)

The park will be open with normal operating hours - Friday 10a-10p, Saturday 10a-10p and Sunday 11a - 7p and this weekend happens to be Christian Youth Weekend, with several concerts happening throughout the weekend.

One of my favorite rides at the park is Mr. Freeze, but right now it's closed because ride engineers at the park are in the process of reversing the train cars.  So instead of being shot out of the freeze tunnel forward at nearly 70 miles per hour, it'll all happen backwards!  Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast is scheduled to open next month and it's a ride I'll definitely be waiting in line for!

You can enter to win tickets to Six Flags Over Texas through your Mix VIP account now!

At the same time I'm happy that no damage was done to Six Flags Over Texas, I feel horrible for all those families that have been displaced by the tornadoes that moved through North Central and East Texas.  You can help those families out by making monetary donations to the Red Cross.

Check out what Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast is going to look like!
