After the organization "Buy Local First" gathered signatures for months to get the measure to allow the sale of beer and wine for off premises consumption in the City of Tyler and Smith County JP Precinct 2 to appear on the November 6th ballot, it passed and will be voted on in the coming election. However, there is a problem with printed mail-in ballots that have already been sent out to those requesting mail in ballots - the proposal is missing from the ballot.

The number of ballots that are affected is pretty low, but those ballots are very important and that is why the Smith County Elections Office is reprinting and remailing new ballots to those voters that have requested mail-in ballots. Around 69 Smith County voters, whose ballots have been mailed out will be getting the new versions and marked updated with a pink sticker on it. Those affected voters live in precincts 39 and 31 and are inside the Tyler city limits.

Get out and make your vote count on Tuesday, November 6th.
