Sony Pictures is reportedly in talks to acquire the movie rights to Walter Isaacson’s soon-to-be-published biography of Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, who died last week after a long battle with cancer.

The book, titled simply ‘Steve Jobs,’ is slated for release on October 24. It’s the only biography authorized by the late visionary and features interviews with his friends and family, as well as with Jobs himself.

The proposed film wouldn’t be the first time Jobs’ life has been chronicled on-screen — the 1999 made-for-TV movie, ‘Pirates of Silicon Valley,’ depicted his long personal and professional rivalry with former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates. Produced by cable channel TNT, the network re-aired the film last week in the wake of Jobs’ death.
