Christmas time brings out the best in East Texans, because we support various charities by giving money, volunteering, donating gifts and food. In spite of all that we do to help out, sadly to say, there's always someone else in need. With a lot of focus on toy drives this time of year to help those less fortunate put a present under the tree to bring joy to a kid on Christmas day, there's also the need for food. Putting food on the table is hard for some families during this time of the year and that is why Townsquare Media radio stations Mix 93-1, Classic Rock 96-1, 101.5 KNUE and HOT 107-3 Jamz is supporting Longview Transit in the first ever Stuff A Bus Food Drive in Longview.

The Stuff A Bus Food Drive is a one day event happening on Thursday, December 19th from 12n to 7p a four different locations throughout Longview. The food drive benefits three Longview area charities, Longview Community Ministries, Hiway 80 Rescue Mission and Newgate Mission.

The Stuff A Bus Food Drive is in conjuction with Longview ISD, Pine Tree ISD and Spring Hill ISD. Each school district along with Longview Transit will have buses set up at the following locations collecting non-perishable food items along with personal hygiene items too.

The buses will be parked from 12n - 7p at the following locations:

  • Target - 3092 N. Eastman Rd.
  • Brookshire's - 3354 Gilmer Rd.
  • Super 1 Foods - 1217 E. Marshall Ave.
  • Super 1 Foods - 2301 W. Loop 281

This is a first time holiday event for Longview with hopes to make it an annual tradition. The goal is to work together as a community to make Christmas and the holidays a lot brighter for those in Longview that may be struggling to put food on the table.
