A man wanted for the murder of a Van Zandt Couple has been arrested in Lauderdale County, Tennessee. WMC TV is reporting that Donny Greenhow was arrested Friday Morning following an extensive search by multiple federal and state agencies.

A sheriffs spokesperson says Greenhow traveled to Tennessee to kill his father. Officers spotted Greenhow getting gas Thursday morning in Ripley and he drove off when he saw police. He left his wallet on the counter.

He is armed with an AK-47 and officials say he was driving a vehicle he stole from Waco.  Investigators have located the vehicle they believe he was driving. It had been abandoned.

Greenhow, 31, is wanted for the double-murder of 74-year-old Peter Shick and his wife, 55-year-old Latrisha, who were found by a family member in their Ben Wheeler home Friday.

Authorities say Greenhow was a family friend of the victims. They say Latrisha’s body was discovered in the kitchen and her husband, Peter, was found in their bedroom.

Investigators linked Greenhow to the murders by the fingerprints he left behind in a SUV stolen from Kaufman County.

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department called in U.S. Marshals to help capture him.

Right now, police are in the area of Highway 87 west of Ripley.

Officials suspect Greenhow has been in the area for about a week and a woman who saw him recently reported that he was wearing all camouflage.
