History could repeat itself this October in Los Angeles. According to the “official” MDNA tour Twitter account, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, both of whom made out with Madonna onstage at the 2003 MTV VMAs, may be appearing onstage with the Material Girl.

If you pay attention, you’ll notice that it’s set to ‘Don’t Fail Me Now,’ the new single from Season 1 winner Melanie Amaro. The song factors prominently in the spot, paired with the uplifting, dream-come-true footage of the judges complimenting and pushing through the top tier of talent during the audition phases.

Now that we think about it, everyone was raving about how great Brit looked. But RadarOnline is now reporting that Spears was kind of “out of it” at the shoot; incessantly smoking cigarettes during breaks and appearing “robotic.”

‘Glee‘ is planning a second Britney Spears tribute episode, but it’s not likely that Brit Brit will appear this time out. Another difference? The singer’s most recent material will likely be the focus of the tribute. Brit’s catalog is deep, so there is a wealth of songs for producers to choose from. That’s called a good problem to have.
While on her 'Stronger 2012' tour, Kelly Clarkson takes a turn and performs a song from another artist. In the past she has covered Katy Perry, Coldplay, Foo Fighters and more. During her Las Vegas concert, last Friday night, Kelly performed a Britney Spears song.
