The 2013 Billboard Music Awards kicked off with a bang in the form of Bruno Mars.

Mars and his Smeezington buddies were clad in red pants, red jackets and black shirts. He let his curls run free, not topping his outfit with his usual fedora. There were horns, guitars, drums and, of course, that voice!

There's usually some behind-the-scenes footage that accompanies an artist's magazine cover story. For Bruno Mars' first Rolling Stone cover, the creative director and artist decided to forego the usual chatter about hair, makeup, clothes and music in favor of a short (like 35 seconds) silent film inspired by the Andy Warhol Screen Tests from the 1960s.
