It’s down to the Top 8 on ‘American Idol,’ and tonight, contestant Colton Dixon was tasked with singing a song from the ’80s.

Instead of picking something from the alternative rock genre, which definitely seems to be the genre Dixon is most comfortable with, the 20 year old went with Cyndi Lauper’s pop ballad ‘Time After Time.’ However, he couldn’t resist giving the classic a rock twist.

When I made today's selection for the Mix 93-1 Retro Video of the Day, Cyndi Lauper just popped in my head and the first song was "She Bop". This was a rather interesting video as it starts out in a burger joint, then goes "catoonish" and then she's in front of a judge and then on a broadway style stage!

On Friday, singer Cyndi Lauper found herself stuck in the Buenos Aires airport after her flight was delayed.

Lauper, who is on a world tour, wasn't the only traveler stranded and emotions were running high as cancellations and delays began to accumulate.

To defuse the tension, the 57-year-old singer commandeered one of the airport microphones and led a sing-a-long of her '80s classic "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," as well as other hits form her career.

While Lauper's impromptu concert didn't get anybody home any faster, it did give them a great story to tell when they did finally get there. Read on to see video of Lauper's free airport terminal show.
