Disappointment isn’t a strong enough word to explain how we felt when they cut off Natasha Bedingfield’s performance of ‘Last Dance’ by the late Donna Summer.

Summer had been an influential part of the music industry for the last 40 years and to have them cut to a commercial before Bedingfield could even finish the first chorus of the song just seemed downright rude.

After battling cancer, Donna Summer died this morning at the age of 63. TMZ reports that Summer was working on a new album and trying to finish it up and tried her best to keep the extent of her illness away from the public. Donna Summer was the queen of disco and had a string of hits throughout the 70's and 80's.

On TV now, we've got American Idol, soon there will be The Voice on NBC and now it's time to make way for Platinum Hit! It's a new music competition series that will be airing on Bravo. Now each of these shows have their own special twist - we know what American Idol's all about, on The Voice the judges (or vocal coaches as they are referred to) will only hear the talents voice and not see them. The twist on Platinum Hit is that the musicians will be battling through songwriting challenges that will be centered around various themes. The winner of the competition will get $100,000, a publishing deal with Sony and a recording deal with RCA/Jive Records.
