Looks like the rumors of Nicki Minaj joining ‘American Idol‘ may be true. The Hollywood Reporter says that Minaj and country crooner Keith Urban are close to finalizing their contracts for the show!

It was announced  a month ago that Mariah Carey would become a judge on ‘American Idol‘ for its upcoming season, filling one of the seats left vacant by former judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. People may still be recovering from the shock of the announcement, but ‘Idol’ winner Jordin Sparks thinks Carey will be a great fit.

The rumors are true! Nick Jonas confirmed that he’s in negotiations to be the next ‘American Idol‘ judge.

Snoop Dogg, or rather Snoop Lion, is jumping on the ‘American Idol‘ bandwagon, adding himself to the list of possible new judges for the hit FOX series … kind of.

Flamboyant singer Steven Tyler announced his exit from the judging panel of ‘American Idol‘ a few weeks ago, and now the Aerosmith frontman has gone on the record (so to speak) about what working on the show was really like.

‘American Idol‘ winner Kelly Clarkson hasn’t been shy when it comes to commenting on the show that catapulted her into stardom. Since Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez announced their exits from the show, Clarkson has been vocal as to whom she’d like to see fill the judges seats. And now that Mariah Carey has secured one of the vacant seats, Clarkson has sounded off.

‘American Idol‘ will see a new set of judges next year, and while Mariah Carey has officially signed on to fill Jennifer Lopez’s spot, two other seats remain. Now, rumor has it that Nick Jonas and Pharrell Williams are contenders for the panel.

We still can’t get over the fact that the No. 1 diva herself Mariah Carey has agreed to be a judge on ‘American Idol.’ Of course, with a price tag of $18 million, we’re not terribly surprised, but we have a sneaking suspicion she agreed because she feels the need to compete with veteran competitors like ‘X Factor‘ judge Britney Spears and ‘The Voice‘ judge Christina Aguilera.

Now that Steven Tyler has officially bailed on ‘American Idol‘ and it’s looking more and more like Jennifer Lopez will follow suit, that’s two Chairs of Judgment that need to be filled. Or is it three? Sources close to the show say Randy Jackson, the only original ‘Idol’ panelist left, is packing up his iffy fashion sense and hitting the door, too.

The rumors and speculation that's been around for a week or so has come true.  According to TMZ.com, Jennifer Lopez has called it quits and will not be returning to the American Idol judges table next season with Randy Jackson.

When the news broke yesterday afternoon about Steven Tyler leaving American Idol, the first thing I thought about was that I was going to miss the bit that Jimmy Kimmel does called, "Steven Tyler's Creepy Leer Of The Night."

Jennifer Lopez is getting ready to hit the road with Enrique Iglesias on her first world tour. She may be hitting the road and leaving one of her high-profile gigs, too! Her tenure as a warm and maternal ‘American Idol‘ judge may see its days numbered.
