It was announced  a month ago that Mariah Carey would become a judge on ‘American Idol‘ for its upcoming season, filling one of the seats left vacant by former judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. People may still be recovering from the shock of the announcement, but ‘Idol’ winner Jordin Sparks thinks Carey will be a great fit.

Jordin Sparks appeared on the ‘TODAY’ show on Wednesday (Aug. 15), where she opened up about her new movie, ‘Sparkle,’ as well as her late co-star Whitney Houston.

Jordin Sparks is filming a music video for ‘Celebrate,’ the song she recorded with Whitney Houston for the movie ‘Sparkle.’ The official YouTube site of the film posted a new clip with footage from the video shoot and scenes from the movie featuring the full cast, including Houston and Cee Lo Green.

After Whitney Houston was honored at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20), Ryan Seacrest premiered on his radio show Monday (May 21) the pop icon’s last song she recorded before her untimely death. The song is titled ‘Celebrate’ and it features Jordin Sparks.

Whitney Houston will be saluted posthumously with the Billboard Millennium Award at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards. Along with the honor, chart-topping artists Jordin Sparks and John Legend will perform songs in memory the late pop icon who passed away in February. The first official ‘Sparkle’ film poster has been unveiled, and on it, singer/actress Jordin Sparks is the focal point, standing in the spotlight, bathed in light. Sparks portrays the film’s titular character, so it’s no surprise that she is the centerpiece of the poster.

Even though they initially denied their relationship, Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks have confirmed that they are a couple and now they’re shouting their love for one another from the mountain tops. Derulo recently dropped a remix of ‘It Girl,’ and apparently this position has been filled by his lady love Ms. Sparks, as she is featured on the song and in a video accompanying the revamped tune.
