East Texan Collin Gray has been in Afghanistan fighting for our country since November of 2012. The 20-year-old infantryman was a graduate of Chapel Hill High School in 2011 and knew without a doubt what he wanted to do with his life. And apparently he also knew without a doubt who he wanted as his date for this year's Army Ball. Not only is she a native Texan, but she is also one of the biggest names in popular music.

The Pentagon has released the names of 30 American troops who were killed when a rocket-propelled grenade downed their Chinook helicopter in Afghanistan last weekend

The attack represented the biggest single day loss of military personnel America has suffered during the nearly ten-year Afghanistan war. Overall, 1648 Americans have died in the conflict.
