News Headlines – December 1st

Evangelist Billy Graham remains hospitalized this morning after undergoing treatment of his lungs. A spokesman says Rev. Graham was admitted to Mission Hospital in Ashville, North Carolina after complaining of a cough and congestion. The 93 year old Graham was hospitalized earlier this month with pneumonia.

Man Endures Seven-Hour Flight While Standing, Obese Passenger Took Up His Seat

In the past year or so, several airlines have made headlines for insisting obese passengers buy two seats to accommodate their size and avoid infringing on the space occupied by others. Some people say the practice is unfair, but Arthur Berkowitz likely isn’t one of them.

On a recent US Airlines flight from Anchorage to Philadelphia, he was forced to stand for the entire seven-hour trip when he was seated next to a man who took up not only his own seat, but half of Berkowitz’s as well. The flight was completely full, meaning there was nowhere left to go.

PETA Targets City of Turkey for a Vegan-Friendly Name Change [VIDEO]

The animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, better known as PETA, does some good work, but it’s the organization’s more absurd stunts that often make headlines — and this one is a prime example.

Citing the suffering of turkeys during the Thanksgiving season, PETA sent a letter to the mayor of Turkey, Texas and asked him to change the town’s name to the tofu-based meat alternative “Tofurky” instead.

Woman Surprised to Find Out – Over the Phone – That She Was Murdered

As the Kennewick High School class of 1971′s 40th reunion approached, an email was sent around relaying the sad news that seven of their 900 graduates had been murdered over years. The news was so shocking, the local paper published a story about it.

However, only six members of the class of ’71 had been murdered, and the seventh, Cheri Taylor, was very much alive.
