A recent report by the Detroit Police Officers Association offers a strict warning to those who plan to visit the city, saying that due to “grossly understaffed” and overworked law enforcement, people now enter the Motor City at their own risk.
The City of Longview has a career fair planed for today (June 13) from 4pm-7pm at Maude Cobb Convention Center. The fair will showcase various careers available with the City of Longview from police officers to firefighters to public works – like being a health inspector. GLADEWATER -- A Gladewater man is jailed and facing charges on intoxication assault and fleeing the scene of an accident after officers found numerous vehicles at a new car lot heavily damaged.
Last week I was standing in line at McAlisters Deli waiting to order, when I noticed three police officers standing in the line next to me. I couldn’t help but listen to their conversation. They were chatting about the past weeks events- such as the shooting at the mall and the high speed chase out in Chandler, and about how much hard work was put into both of those incidents.

Ten confused ducklings in Fort Myers, Florida found themselves caught in the middle of a busy intersection. Luckily, police officer Glenn Eppler spotted the tiny tykes.
With the help of an animal-loving passerby, Eppler was able to round the ducklings up and escort them to their mother, who was in a grassy area close to the road.
