Michael Strahan Named Co-Host of 'Live' With Kelly Ripa

It was one of the worst kept secrets in television, this morning Kelly Ripa announced who her new co-host would be and as expected, it was Michael Strahan! The show has been searching for a replacement for Regis Philbin since his departure from the show in November of last year and Michael is the new man on set. The show has also been renamed with Kelly getting top billing! The show changes from Live! With Kelly to Live! With Kelly & Michael.

When Regis Philbin stepped down from 'Live! With Regis and Kelly', the people who are behind his show immediately began searching for someone to fill his seat. While Regis is obviously irreplaceable, someone has to take the job. His counterpart Kelly Ripa has done a phenomenal job handling the show with whichever co-host comes her way. Well it looks as though they have finally found a permanent host to sit next to her.

It looks like Geoff Pedersen, Craig Ferguson‘s skeletal, robotic sidekick, has recently gotten an upgrade. In the past, Geoff worked only sporadically and even had difficulty repeating pre-recorded phrases. But now, the late-night robot has become a wisecracking automaton who drops jokes on the fly.

On Wednesday night’s episode of ‘The Late Late Show,’ Geoff did a spot-on impression of guest Regis Philbin that the daytime host didn’t find amusing. “I thought he was having like an epileptic fit over here,” Philbin said. “I don’t talk like that at all! You’ve got to get rid of him!”
